How Vane Labs collects, uses, and safeguards personal information across this website and our advisory engagements.

Last updated 12 July 2026

Vane Labs (“Vane Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an ad-tech consulting practice. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit vane-labs.com or engage us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and, where applicable, comparable obligations in other jurisdictions.

01Information we collect

We keep data collection deliberately minimal. We collect:

  • Information you give us — when you submit our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, company (if provided), and the content of your message.
  • Usage and device data — when you browse the site, our analytics tools automatically record information such as pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, and device characteristics.
  • Engagement information — during an advisory engagement, we may hold business-contact details and materials you choose to share with us.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information, and we do not seek personal information from anyone under 18.

02How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and correspond with you;
  • To provide, scope, and deliver our consulting and advisory services;
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website;
  • To understand aggregate traffic and how the site is used;
  • To meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

03Cookies & analytics

This site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and understand how visitors use the site. These tools set cookies and collect usage data as described above. Analytics data is aggregated and used to improve the site — it is not used to identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

04How we share information

We share personal information only where necessary:

  • With service providers who support our operations — for example, our website host (Netlify) and analytics provider (Google) — who process data on our behalf under their own terms;
  • Where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process;
  • In connection with a business transfer, restructure, or sale, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

Some of these providers may process data on servers located outside your country. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.

05Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above — to respond to enquiries, deliver services, and satisfy legal or record-keeping requirements — after which it is deleted or de-identified.

06Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

07Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain processing. To make a request, email info@vane-labs.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
